Can't Live Without

We all have our favorite products or items that we can't seem to live without, those products that no matter what we try - we keep coming back to.

I'm rounding out a few things that I use on the daily and don't see myself stopping any time soon.

one | Converse Shoreline Sneakers - I wear these sneakers constantly!  They are so versatile - they go awesome with jeans, skirts, sundresses - you name it, and are easy to slip on when I'm in a rush to get out of the door.  I will always own a pair of these shoes!

two | Concealer - I'm a mom, enough said ;) but in all seriousness, it is very rare that I leave the house without concealer on.  I've always had dark circles around my eyes and motherhood has amplified them.  I've tried many different brands, and was even on a Maybelline kick for a while, but I came back to my tried and true friend, MAC Studio Finish.  It provides me with the best coverage using not as much product.  It's a little thick, but when applied right after your moisturizer it goes on smoothly.

three | Bath and Body Works Candles - These are hands down the best candles for their price, they smell delicious and one candle makes my whole house smell good!  You can't say that about many candles.  I love many of their scents, but my signature scent, and the one you'll see lit the majority of the time here is the Eucalyptus Mint candle.  It's not too over-powering and it's a very clean smell, which I love!

four |  Mascara - One of the other few things you'll rarely see me leave the house with.  Even on days where putting makeup on isn't much of an option.  I have been LOVING the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara.  I'll talk more about it in another post, but in the meantime, if you're on the lookout for a good mascara, pick this one up!

five | Fresh flowers - If you have been around Kids and Cabernet for a while now, you know how much I love having fresh flowers at home, and more often than not you'll see them around my house.  I know some people think they are a waste of money, but I buy inexpensive ones at the grocery store and I think having them at home makes your house more homey, inviting and adds a touch of glam - all wins in my book!

six |  Another thing I can't live without is my homemade "febreeze spray".  I make a batch weekly and spray my furniture and rugs daily since we have a dog, I try to eliminate any odors I can!  It's so easy to make, all you need is some rubbing alcohol, an essential oil of your choice and water!

And of course there are the obvious things like: husband, kids, WINE, and my phone - but you already know all of that ;)

What are somethings you use on the daily that you cant live without?

On my Radar: Fall Makeup

Happy Tuesday Friends!

One of the best parts of the season's changing, is being able to switch up your look a bit.  I love the golden tones of fall, and the berry lips, I just need to perfect my winged liner look!  Which I'm in the process of watching some videos on; did you know you can use Scotch Tape to help you form the line??

mind blowing, right?

Ok back to the makeup looks I love...

These two looks are perfect for a day look and lets be honest, that's what I normally have on anyway #kids.

Cosmetics I've Been Loving

This Summer my makeup has been more of the barely there glowy look.  I love this look because it doesn't feel or look heavy - and seriously the less of anything you can have on in this heat the better!  I've also stepped out of my comfort zone a bit and tried some new things.

Here's what I've been loving the past few months:

Essie's Chillato - I've spoken about this color before - I'm obsessed!  It's the perfect summer shade, it's light, bright and such a unique shade.

Pantene Blow Out Extend Dry Shampoo - I'm new to the dry shampoo club so I don't have anything to compare this to, but I do know that it doesn't show any powder and it smells heavenly - this has been helping me out a lot in between washes and does extend your blow out, my hair also instantly feels cleaner.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes - I usually use Maybelline Falsies mascara, but I got this one in an Ipsy bag and I've been loving it - although this is 3 times the price of the Maybelline one that I use... It gives me the look of thick long lashes and the applicator is great!  I'll be sure to pick this up when I go to Sephora.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer - I recently switched back to this concealer after using Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer for a long time.  Nothing beats the coverage of this concealer.  It can be a little thick, so I put it on right after I moisturize my face and it goes on perfectly.

Pixi Bronzer in Summertime - this baby is what has been giving me that glowing look this Summer.  I have been using it on it's own as a blush and I love the subtle glow it gives me.  This for sure has been my go to product almost every day this Summer.

Life Lately and Some Outfit Love

This summer has been crazy busy it seems, and time is quickly passing until E starts Kindergarten next month.  So we're trying to spend as much time out, in the pool, at the movies and with friends before she goes to school. (Insert cry face emoji) When did she get so big??

Here's a little glimpse of what we've been up to...

The kids love going out on their bikes and cars.  It's been super hot, but we decided to go one morning and let them have some fun.

Paris has gotten HUGE she's 5 months now, and about 15 pounds.  She's the sweetest thing and thinks she's one of the kids!  She knows all of her commands and listens well - we got a winner :)  We had to get her a new cage and the kids piled in there with her to test it out - I'm not sure who liked it more!  And no the cage door wasn't locked!

We hit up our favorite taco place this week.  I could eat these tacos all day everyday - they're amazing!  They're Korean tacos so they taste a little different than the usual ones.  I of course drench mine in habanero sauce because I love anything and everything spicy.

I loved this outfit I threw together: leopard, stripes and gold?  Yes please!

I love these two dresses that I got from Loft's last 50% off sale.  They're both really comfortable and light.  And how pretty is the embroidery on the top one?

I also really like the color of this Aurora Gel Effect polish from my Ipsy bag this month, it's called 4 Alarm Fire.  It's the perfect pinkish red.

My Favorites From Ipsy + Giveaway Winner

I'm back!!!  We had so much fun in Disney and made some great memories and now it's back to our routine.

I have so loved being subscribed to IPSY and getting a makeup bag full of goodies each month.  I like that I'm able to try so many products, and see which ones I really like and would repurchase again!

A few of my favorites have been:

Marsk Eyeshadow in Lucky Penny - This eyeshadow is AMAZING it gives off the most beautiful copper color and is very pigmented, I wore it all day long and it didn't crease - I can't say enough good things about this shadow!

Blush ModelCo Cheek Powder in Cosmopolitan - As soon as I saw this color, I knew I'd love it.  It gives of the prettiest shade of pink.  The color applies easy and also stayed put all day - although I'm not one that touches my face a lot.

NYX Butter Lipstick in Little Susie - I've written about this before, but the color is perfect for Spring/Summer and is so moisturizing. I can't wait to go back to Target and pick up a couple more colors!

MANNA Sheer Glo Shimmer Lotion - This lotion is not only moisturizing, but gives off the perfect glow.  I wear it with my makeup or alone for days I don't fee like wearing a lot of makeup, but want a glowy/dewy look.

Starlooks Eyeliner in Ultra Orchid - I wear this liner almost ever day for day wear.  I wore it on my vlog last week and spoke a little about it.  It's perfect!  It gives off just the right amount of purple and shimmer, doesn't smudge and stays on all day - a winner in my book!

Wonder Lip Paint in Mad Splatter - I was hesitant to try this lip "paint" because the color looks so dark/bright,  but I ended up really liking it.  It goes on like a high pigmented gloss. Every time I wear this I get tons of compliments.

GlamGlow Power Mud Dual Cleanse Treatment -  This acts as a face mask, and an oil treatment for your face.  My face felt so soft and clean after I used it.

Olive Lips Oats and Honey Lip Balm - Ok so I just got this in my bag yesterday, but I'm telling you this stuff is GOOD.  My lips can be pretty dry at times (thank you, eczema!).  As soon as I put this on yesterday my lips felt coated in moisture and it stayed on for hours.  This will be repurchased for sure!

 Yesterday's bag

Are you subscribed to IPSY? If not, subscribe here - it's the best $10 a month and so fun!

I'm off to get my house back in order after being out of town.

PS the winner of the Stella & Dot $40 gift card is Jen Verbrugge - congrats, Katie will be in touch with you soon!!

Favorite Makeup

Happy Tuesday, I hope you all had a great weekend!

It's been a while since I've done one of these posts - I always love trying new products and see how they compare to ones I was already using.  In the past few months I've introduced a few new makeup items that I really have loved.

Urban Decay NYC Palette

I"m so happy I got this palette, the colors are beautiful and are great for smoky eyes and for Fall/Winter.  The colors go on great - which is to be expected by Urban Decay.  There are so many color combinations with possible this palette.

via

Too Faced Boudoir Eyes

This is another great palette that's great for a smoky eye or a more natural look.  It's colors I would say are a little similar to the Naked 1 Palette.  I like that the compact is on the smaller side and can easily fit in a makeup bag for trips or touchups.  The only complaint I have is that the Satin Sheets color goes on gold (at least on my complexion), I would've preferred a more pink color

MAC Eyeliner Pencil

I had been looking for an eyeliner that goes on smooth for a long time.  My sister-in-law swears by the MAC pencils so I decided to give them a try.  I loved it, it goes on smooth, has great pigment and lasts all day.

Too Faced Snow Bunny Luminous Powder

This has to to be one of my favorite purchases of all time.  This when the colors are mixed this powder gives off the perfect pinkish-bronze color, it's perfect for both daytime and nightime looks.  I can not say enough good things about it.

Fall In Florida

Fall is kind of a strange season in Florida.  It really doesn't cool down much - our humidity just gets WAY better and there is typically a nice breeze around, but that's it.  It is still pretty warm out and air conditioner is still needed.

Seeing as the weather doesn't change drastically, our clothing doesn't either - which kind of sucks in my opinion, because I LOVE Fall and so want to wear all of the fuzzy sweaters, scarves and boots!  I make small changes in my appearance in the Fall.  In the past, if I had lighter hair or highlights - I always went to my natural dark brown color - which lately I've stuck to (I hate being a slave to the hairdresser).  I also change up my makeup and polishes.

For makeup, I tone down the dewy makeup that I usually do and try to use more matte colors and a lot of browns and neutrals.... hello Naked Palettes!  Another great palette would be the Lorac Pro Palette 2.

When choosing a nail polish in the Fall, I stick with more earthy or darker tones.

As for clothes, this is how we pretty much walk around in the fall.... just sad ;)

Have a great day!

Weekend + Makeup

Good Morning!!

I hope you all had a great weekend, our was off to a good start - on Friday I spent most of the day with my BFF at her house.  The kids all got along and we were able to chat and catch up a bit.  We also had a little "day drink".  Hubby was on shift that day and so you all know what went down that night: wine, blogging and some TV - my kind of night!

Saturday was a beautiful breezy day and we had plans to go to a picnic at the park.  The kids had so much fun playing at the park, corn hole and flying a kite.

Sunday morning E woke up with a cold so yesterday was filled with tissues, and lots of snuggles which I'm not complaining about.  I'm just hoping J doesn't get it next, which I know is almost virtually impossible, but in the mean time I'll give him extra vitamins and pray he doesn't get it.

On to the makeup...
Lately I've been noticing a new makeup trend that and I'm loving so much for summer - gold eyeliner.  It looks so pretty, shimmery and subtle.

Doesn't it give your face a sun-kissed look?  I just need to figure out how to recreate it, I've put on gold eyeliner, but it's not popping as much as I'd like so I'm going to check a tutorial out and see what I can come up with.

Have any of you tried this look?

Some Obsessions

As we all know the weather is warming up, well here in FL it's already scorching which means clothes have to be as cool as possible and during this time of year I also like my makeup to be light and shimmery.  These are some of the things you can see me in this time of year.

some favorites

  • Maxi dress - it's comfy, airy and they can be dressed up or down.  I so want to get the one I have pictured, I love the cutout in the back!
  •  Jumpsuit-  I now own two and LOVE how comfortable they are and just like the maxi can be dressed up or down
  • Bralette - It's just too darn hot to wear a "real" bra.  This is a lighter version and so easy to wash and basically needs no care.  I live in these!
  • Lipgloss and Lipstick - I have bigger lips so I don't like too much color on them.  There's no need to accentuate these babies!
  • Light Pink Polish - I love a nice light pink polish, it looks so fresh, you can't see chipping that much and it's so classic!
  • Flip-flops - All day. Everyday
  • MAC Mineral Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle - I loooove this powder and put it on on top of my blush or sometimes alone.  It gives you such a beautiful glow (channeling JLo's glow)
  • Large tote - I like to carry one around on days where we are going to be at the beach or pool and just have all of my belongings in once space.  This lemon print one is so pretty!
What are some ways your wardrobe/looks change during warmer months?

Also please don't forget tomorrow is the Wino Wednesday linkup!  I hope you all can join :)

Naked3 Palette

Good Morning!  I hope you had a great weekend!  We spent lots of time outside enjoying the new play set and spent time with friends we went to Fudruckers with the kids and walked around an outdoor mall, it was such a beautiful day yesterday so it was great to be outdoors and get some fresh air.

My sweet sister-in-law gifted me the Naked3 Palette!  I've been wanting it for so long so needless to say I was super excited when she surprised me with it.  The colors in this palette are more rosy than the other Naked paletts which is very pretty and I think great for summer.  Of course with my new palette comes going on Pinterest and seeing which looks I love and what I can try to recreate.

Here are the ones I'm loving:

Rosy smoky eye:

I like this one for a casual day out, it's a light and fresh look:

This look would be great for a night out, it's dramatic and pretty!

While on Pinterest I found a link for 10 Quick and Easy Naked3 Tutorials that I'll also be looking at to get a few ideas.

Do any of you have the Naked3 Palette, if so what are your favorite combinations?

Have a great day! Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft are having 50% off their entire site, I'll be on there doing some damage today - I can't give up a 50% sale!!

Also, in case some of you missed it, I guest posted on Believe in the Sparks on Friday and talked about my wedding and honeymoon - I can't believe this year will be TEN years that we're married!!

Have a good one!

Makeup Products I Want to Try

During our long car ride to Tampa, I was reading a magazine and came across a few beauty products that I'd like to try.

one:  Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Silver Flame

This looks like it would be such a pretty color on it's own OR to pair with some shimmery eye shadow.

Seems like it would be an awesome palette to do a smoky eye with

three:  I'm on the hunt for a new eye liner.  Something that goes on smooth and that I don't have to sharpen. I don't typically buy too many pencils that need to be sharpened unless I LOVE the color because they never sharpen evenly and one too many times I've been hurt by pointy wood - no bueno!  I'd like to give this Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Drama Cream Pencil a try.

four: CND Vinylux polish.  This seems like a cool polish to try.  It doesn't last as long as a gel polish but when used with it's top coat this polish is supposed to last 7 days chip free.  It's $10 for polish and $10 for the top coat.  I think this would be great to try because my polish chips so easy with all of the times I wash my hands during the day.  It comes in 62 shades, so there is a great selection of color.

Have any of you tried any of these products?  What are your thoughts?  Do you have a go to liner that you love?!

I hope you're all having a great week so far!!
