Weekend Recapping on Tuesday

I hope everyone had the best weekend!  I meant to get my weekend recap post up yesterday (it's been forever since I've shared one!) but running errands took precedence.  We were gone most of the day getting things done - anyone else's Costco trips take forever??  Oh my!

Anyway, I'm here recapping a day late for you all.

It has been raining basically non stop here, but we still managed to do a few things and have fun.  Friday night we met up with our couple friends and had a parent's night out!  We went to Funky Budah and had the best time sampling beers, eating delicious food and being able to carry on conversations without any kids interrupting - priceless and totally worth the drive in the pouring rain :)

Saturday we spent at home all day.  We had a quiet morning: coffee, candles burning and Saturday morning cartoons.  I got some chores done around the house and then got sucked into the Fixer Upper marathon - I could seriously sit and watch Fixer Upper all day!

In the evening my brother-in-law and sister-in-law came over to play with the kids.  We decided to order sushi for dinner, sushi is always a good idea!

Sunday we were invited to our friends house for Mexian night.

I threw on my go-to outfit, my striped shirt from Loft, Express jean leggings, my pink stone necklace from Dolce Ave. and my leopard ballet flats.  Do any of you have an outfit that's your go to when you don't know what to wear but want to look cute?

shirt (similar) | leggings | flats | necklace (similar)

We all had a blast - we ate enchiladas, queso dip, and guacamole.  The kids all played together and we adults played beer pong, haha.  It was my first time playing, it is fun!

And just like that our fun weekend was over and it was time to get ready for the week!

Weekending: Disney

Happy Monday!

I hope your weekend was a good one!  We're back from our few days at Disney and it's back to the regular  routine around here.

We had a great time in Orlando and the weather was great the whole time, which is always an added plus!  Our surprise worked out great  the kids were totally caught off guard and were grinning from ear to ear when we told them we were going to Disney, it was such a cute moment!  To be a kid again... with cool parents, of course ;)

This was the first time ever that we stayed at the parks the whole day.  Usually we would break some time in the afternoon so the kids could nap and then go back.  But, now since no one naps anymore, we enjoyed the parks the whole day, and even park hopped which was both fun and exhausting.  Our feet were killing us by the end of the day.

We got to do way more than usual because we were on the go most of the time, but I liked it that way!  We went to the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT two days in a row, which was fun and delicious and I even ran into Pamela!  It was nice getting to meet another blogger friend!  She was so sweet, I'm bummed we didn't get a picture together!

We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort, it was our first time staying there - it was so cute and I love the island feel that it had to it. It also had a ton to beaches with hammocks, which the kids loved.   Next time we'll need to stay longer so we can explore a bit more, we literally only went to the hotel to sleep.

The rest of the weekend once we got home was spent just relaxing and doing some laundry.  Disney takes a toll on you, especially when you're lugging two kids, and a double stroller! It was nice to just veg for a day and a half.

What were you up to this weekend?

Fall Bucket List

I find myself here in this 90 degree weather longing for Fall to show it's face, although that probably wont happen for another month or so.  I love when it actually "cools" down here.  The temperatures stay in the 70's to low 80's but there is NO humidity, NO mugginess and the best breeze ever!  It makes going outside so much more enjoyable.

Here are a few things we'll be doing this Fall...

Dining al fresco -  I know this is what most of you do during the Summer, but we don't.  It's so hot or it's usually raining in the evenings - cue the mosquitoes!  I can't wait to be able to eat outside and enjoy the weather.  Cleanup is such a breeze when you eat outside and then kids usually play on the playset when they're done eating, leaving me and hubby with a drink in hand talking and watching them play.

My outdoor space isn't this pretty but lets pretend, ok?

Go to The Pumpkin Patch - There's a local farmer's market here that has a Fall festival that is so fun to go to.  There are hay rides, apple everything, pumpkins galore and places set up for picture taking.  It's pretty fun!  The kids are already taking about going.  I'd also love to find out if there are any corn mazes down here to take the kids to.

Bake Fall Treats - aka all things pumpkin!  I find this to be a win-win: the house smells white it's baking, the kids have fun, and we get to have yummy desserts for a few days!

Football Parties - while I don't watch football (my husband does and loves it - I don't understand it) it sure is fun to have people over for the game.  I love eating all of the junk food, drinking beers and hanging out.  And if we do happen to go to a game, tailgating is a must :)

What are you looking forward to most this Fall?

Photo Dump!

Happy Tuesday!!  I hope all of you in the northeast are staying nice and warm (and safe!) during Juno.

I wanted to thank you all SO much for doing my survey last week.  I got a lot of insight on my posts and what you all like - also thank you for your sweet words in the comments!  If you haven't done the survey, please do so - I love hearing what you all have to say.  It's quick, I promise!

It's been a while since I've done a good ol' photo dump so here  we go...

I made some progress in my daughter's room and hung a few things over her bed.  I got most of the stuff from Hobby Lobby, and the bird mirror is a long time ago Pottery Barn Kids find.  Now I'm on the hunt for the perfect quit for her.

Speaking of the little cutie, she cracked me up the other night.  I put her hair in a bun, she put her glasses on and asked "Mom, ask me who I am" so, I did.  She replied with "I'm Taylor Swift!  Want my autograph?" haha.  I love her little personality, Taylor Swift is her favorite singer right now.  I think she won all kids over with Shake It Off!

We've been playing a lot of games recently, especially since we've all been sick - playdoh manicures, Operation, tea parties, and Hi Ho Cherry O.  The kids have been LOVING board games!

I tried this wine with my sister-in-law the other day and it was AMAZING!  If you ever see it, do yourself a favor and get a bottle!

A couple of weeks ago we took an evening stroll on the beach, and I got this beautiful shot.  Evenings spent walking on the beach are the best!

And lastly these two at Costco the other day.  While we were picking out wines they wanted to hold a bottle... so they became mommy's wine holders for the remainder of the Costco trip - as you can see they were pretty proud of themselves.

I hope you all have a great day!

Wedding Bells

Good morning!

I hope you all had a great weekend!  The kids were sick, but we still managed to have a nice time, which is always good.

Last Friday, December 26th my sister got married.  It was such a beautiful wedding and day in general.  A lot of family was in town, the food was delicious, the dance floor was full, and the drinks were coming - what's better than that!

I wanted to share a few pictures with you all from the big day.  I didn't take too many because I was busy dancing my booty off - but here's what I have!

My sister and I right before getting into the limo

 Four generations...

Hubby and I (and a sleeping mini on my lap - he fought a nap all day and zonked out at the reception)

Taking pictures... which by the way, is hard with an over tired two year old

My beautiful girl in her most favorite role - flower girl.  She takes her role seriously, veil and all and even requests makeup ;)

First dance as husband and wife.  I wish I had recorded it, it started off as a traditional slow dance and then changed into a medley of faster songs - Gangnam Style, Cotton Eyed Joe and a few others.

We had such a great time and I'm so sad that it's over - after a year full of weddings and parties, I don't know what I'm going to do now that all of the planning is over!

What We've Been Up To {Photo Dump}

We're back from our trip to Disney.  We decided to go and use up our pass for the last time before it expires.  We love being annual pass-holders and going up whenever we have a few free days.  As a kid we lived in Orlando and my mom worked for a Disney hotel, so I grew up going a lot and have the best memories, so I'm glad the kids are growing up the same.  Disney is one of my favorite places to go.

It's been a while since I did a photo dump, so I'll fill you in now on a few things we've been up to

One of my favorite things to do is go shopping with my daughter.  I love this age and that we're able to have conversations and pick out things together.  She's always so well behaved when we're out and so much fun to run errands with.

I came home to this sight one day, and I must say it melted my heart a bit.  They're so cute and J really thought he was helping his dad change the battery in the truck!

Here are a few pictures from our Disney trip, I wont bore you with a recap - but these are a few of my favorite shots from this trip.

Love this castle, it never gets old seeing it.  So pretty!

J gets a little star struck when he sees the characters.  He runs up to them, hugs them, talks to them a little and then poses like this for pictures - you can never get a smile out of him haha.

We went to Animal Kingdom  for a little bit, it was too cold and rainy to stay long and of course E was getting sick.  It never fails - one of them always gets sick when we're in Disney.  So we decided to go and do a couple of things and head home.

The Kilamajaro safari ride is one of my favorites, you always see so many beautiful animals!

Hope you all have a great day, I'm off to tackle my big to do list!

Punta Cana Recap

We decided that for our 10 year anniversary we'd book a special trip.  We have wanted to go to Punta Cana for many years, and for some reason never got around to it, so we decided that we should go there to celebrate. I've been to Dominican Republic many times - my family is from there, but this is the first time I have been to Punta Cana and stayed at a resort.  Our best friend's anniversary falls around the same time as ours so we decided to make it a group trip - which was such a great idea!

We stayed at the Hard Rock Resort, which was all inclusive and absolutely STUNNING!  The grounds were so lush and beautiful, and the rooms were spacious and had jacuzzi tubs in the middle of the room.

We really just wanted to relax while we were gone so we didn't do any excursions.  We laid by the pool a lot, had two couples massages, got my hair done, ate fabulous food and drank many drinks and one of the most memorable parts was having a fish pedicure.  It was one of the most amazing (and ticklish) experiences and I'm telling you, my feet have never been softer.

We had such a great time, so many memories were made and lots of laughs were had - it was exactly what we needed.  We came back feeling so refreshed and it was nice to enjoy eachother' company without any kids around.  Can't wait for another couple's trip!

Beachin' It Up!

Monday we decided to go to the beach during the early evening when the sun wasn't as hot.  It was such a gorgeous day, it would've been a waste to stay indoors!  We live about 20 minutes from the beach so it's a close trip for us.

The kids had the best time on the shore, on the sandbar, and playing in the sand making sandcastles with their dad.  I was a little picture happy as the sun went down, I love seeing the golden reflection of the sun on the kids!

Days like these are my favorites.  We're outside, enjoying nature and it fills me with so much joy seeing the kids playing without the distraction of the iPad or tv.  I want to make more of a habit of going to the beach more often.  Although we live so close we rarely go, and it's truly one of my favorite places.... even if the kids bring home 42 pounds of sand in their bathing suits and hair ;)
