Life Lately

Happy Wednesday!

Life has been so busy lately, I feel so behind in the blog world and promise to read your posts and respond to your comments asap!

It's been quite a while since I've done a life lately post - we haven't been up to anything earth-shattering, but I still love doing these posts every once in a while.  They're fun to look back on!

Little by little we've been trying to finish the kids rooms.  For E's room I'm going eclectic - I'm not doing any one "theme" but putting items that I think look cute together and making them work.  She loves her room, and has helped me pick out everything on her walls which has been fun!

We went to a picnic recently and there is a huge man-made hill (we live in Florida - we are hill-less here).  We trekked to the top and the kids and their friend sat and looked at the view.  The lighting was GORGEOUS so I had to snap a picture of these three amigos.  We had such a fun day spending it outdoors with gorgeous weather!

The sunsets lately have been killer!  Am I the only person that sees the walls in their house turn pink and immediately runs outside, camera in hand to take a picture of the sunset?  They are one of my favorite things, they always amaze me!

If you see this wine at your local store, pick it up!  It is beyond delicious.  Publix had it on sale the other day and we bought like 5 bottles #dontjudge.  Its such a smooth cab, and the flavors are perfect!

This little guy will be 4 in a few days and I can't even handle it.  He's getting so big and it makes me sad to think that soon he'll be in school.  We just finished cleaning up the playroom in this picture - which is why you can see the floor ;)

National Wine Day was last week, and I celebrated it the best way I knew how and partook.  Any holiday that encourages having a glass of wine is my kind of day!

I got my Steve Madden heels in the mail the other day from Nordstrom and I am in LOVE with them!  They are comfortable for being so high too.  If you get these buy them a half size bigger, they run small (thanks Lindsay!)

I also got my first subscription of RocksBox in the mail and to say I'm obsessed is an understatement.  I loved all of the pieces in my box, for it being my first order they got me spot on.  If you want to try out RocksBox enter code kidsandcabxoxo at checkout for one month free.  You can cancel at any time so there's no reason not to try it for at least a month.  I have no doubt you'll love it as much as I do.  I also love that you can keep the jewelry for as long as you'd like before sending it in for your new box!

I finally filled the wall in my formal living room that I've been trying to fill for almost 5 years!  I decided on a over-sized clock thanks to Katie who gave me the idea, and I love it!  I got it at Kirklands - you cannot beat the price for how huge it is!

I hope you all have a great day!  I'm off to catch up on my blog reading xo

Pretty In {Blush} Pink

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend, we had a pretty busy one and I don't think I'm ready for Monday - I may need to drink a gallon of coffee to get me through today.

Spring is in the air and if there is one color that I'm crushing on it's blush; actually, I've been crushing on blush for a while.

I love how versatile it is! Blush is basically a neutral and can be paired with almost any color and look completely adorable.  Below are some of my favorite picks from around the web:

Are you a fan of blush too?

Family Pictures 2016

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all had a great weekend!  It was nice to have an extra day off with the kids - long weekends are always the best!

We got our pictures back last week, and I couldn't wait to share them with you all.  I love the way they came out!  This year we dressed a little different than past years, usually we would all wear jeans and nice shirts but this year, I decided to have us girls dress up a little fancy for the pictures.   We also chose an area in Ft. Lauderdale that is a bit urban and rustic as opposed to our usual park pictures.  The end result is LOVE!   It was FREEZING the day we took these and the wind was crazy strong. The kids were such troopers - they are such go with the flow kids, which made for a smooth photo session.  There were so many good ones, but instead of boring you, I'm going to share my absolute favorites.

I love taking these yearly.  It's incredible how much the kids change in so little amount of time, they're always so much fun to look back on!

For any of you wondering here are the details of what we wore.  My shoes are discontinued but I found similar ones, same with my skirt.

Have a great day!!

Can't Live Without

We all have our favorite products or items that we can't seem to live without, those products that no matter what we try - we keep coming back to.

I'm rounding out a few things that I use on the daily and don't see myself stopping any time soon.

one | Converse Shoreline Sneakers - I wear these sneakers constantly!  They are so versatile - they go awesome with jeans, skirts, sundresses - you name it, and are easy to slip on when I'm in a rush to get out of the door.  I will always own a pair of these shoes!

two | Concealer - I'm a mom, enough said ;) but in all seriousness, it is very rare that I leave the house without concealer on.  I've always had dark circles around my eyes and motherhood has amplified them.  I've tried many different brands, and was even on a Maybelline kick for a while, but I came back to my tried and true friend, MAC Studio Finish.  It provides me with the best coverage using not as much product.  It's a little thick, but when applied right after your moisturizer it goes on smoothly.

three | Bath and Body Works Candles - These are hands down the best candles for their price, they smell delicious and one candle makes my whole house smell good!  You can't say that about many candles.  I love many of their scents, but my signature scent, and the one you'll see lit the majority of the time here is the Eucalyptus Mint candle.  It's not too over-powering and it's a very clean smell, which I love!

four |  Mascara - One of the other few things you'll rarely see me leave the house with.  Even on days where putting makeup on isn't much of an option.  I have been LOVING the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara.  I'll talk more about it in another post, but in the meantime, if you're on the lookout for a good mascara, pick this one up!

five | Fresh flowers - If you have been around Kids and Cabernet for a while now, you know how much I love having fresh flowers at home, and more often than not you'll see them around my house.  I know some people think they are a waste of money, but I buy inexpensive ones at the grocery store and I think having them at home makes your house more homey, inviting and adds a touch of glam - all wins in my book!

six |  Another thing I can't live without is my homemade "febreeze spray".  I make a batch weekly and spray my furniture and rugs daily since we have a dog, I try to eliminate any odors I can!  It's so easy to make, all you need is some rubbing alcohol, an essential oil of your choice and water!

And of course there are the obvious things like: husband, kids, WINE, and my phone - but you already know all of that ;)

What are somethings you use on the daily that you cant live without?

Jeans On My Mind | Style

Such a late post this morning - we all got out of bed late and then a particular dog decided that it would be a great idea to dig in the mud - so she needed a bath, all before 8:30 am - fun times!

Let's talk about an item that's mostly worn in our closets - jeans!  I don't know about you all, but I'm such a jean person and my jeans are probably worn the most out of any other items in my closet; yes, even in the Summer.  I've always felt like they hid one of my body parts that I was the most insecure about which are my skinny legs, and from there grew a love for jeans.

I was always a boot-cut lover with the occasional flare, but lately I've been switching it up with my new love: jeggings!  It took a while for me to warm up to the idea of jeggings (again skinny legs) but now I love them!  They have such a nice fit, and in my opinion can be dressed up a little easier than a boot cut -- maybe that's not really the case, but it's how I feel, ha.  I always buy my jeggings from Express.  I love their quality and they always have a great sale going on which make them even more affordable.

I've linked a few of my favorites below - right now Express has a buy one get one for $29.90 some are even buy one, get one $19.90 on all of their jeans!  This is when I stock up on my favorite styles.

The next jean style I'm going to try, are the flares and girlfriend jeans, - I love how they look!  They'd be so fun to dress up, and the Girlfriend jeans look like the perfect "on the go jean".

As you can see by all of my choices, I'm a huge fan of the distressed look; I have to force myself to buy jeans that don't have holes!

What are you favorite kind of jeans to wear?

Don't forget tomorrow is Wino Wednesday AND the first day of our #LovelyStyledLife Instagram series!  I can't wait to see everyone's posts!!

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all had a great weekend!  We FINALLY got our family pictures done, and I can't wait to show them all to you!

It's been a while since I've done a "deal roundup"  I scoured my favorite stores and found some great things for $25 and under!  It's amazing how many great deals are out there for awesome brands!

I never pay full price for anything and with due reason, there are so many great deals out there!

Happy shopping, friends - I know I'll be hitting the purchase button on a few of these pretties!

Target "Hunter" Rain Boots Review

I have been wanting a pair of rain boots for as long as I can remember.  It's always so rainy here - I think it rains here as much as Seattle... even though our nickname is the "sunshine state" - go figure! Either way, rain boots are needed - but two things always held me back: the price for a pair of Hunter's and the fact that my legs are so skinny I didn't think they'd look good on me.

with my little model Paris ;)

I was on Target's website and decided to see what they had for boots and saw these that look like Hunters, but are less than half the price - what a better way to see if I liked them!  And while reading the reviews, this lady compared them to the quality of Hunter boots.  Whether she was right or not, I'm not sure - but it made me want to try them even more!

Once I got them, I loved the color and the quality was great.  I waited patiently for a rainy day to wear them.  They were extremely comfortable to walk in and didn't hurt my feet at all, but do run a little big.  I'm always a size 6, and these were a bit big even with the thick socks I had on.  They're also a little big around my calves, but that's to be expected since I have skinny legs.

All in all I love them, and will continue to wear them, and honestly you can't beat the price - especially for a shoe that is made to get muddy and dirty.   I've linked a few cute other rain boot options from Target below!

Currently Loving

You'd think that after all of the great end of the year sales I'd be tired of looking around and shopping, but nope.  There are so many cute things out, and even if I'm not hitting the purchase button, it's still fun to look around!

one / I have the Mossimo  (aka Target) gray sweat pants and they are my absolute FAVORITE.  They're so soft and look cute on.  I've done many runs out to the store wearing them because they look adorable!  two / I'm loving these sandals from Loft and their price is great!  They'd look cute with just about anything on. three / These are more than I would spend on pj's but when they go on sale, they're mine!  Plus they pretty much go with my matching pj #goals, haha  four / I've gotten a few shoes from Express and I always love them.  I think these two tone ones are next.  five / I've been wanting to try the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick - have any of you tried it?  Did you like it?

Have a great day!

Family Pictures | What to Wear

Time is flying by so fast and it occurred to me that our family pictures are coming up, FAST!  I started brainstorming on the feel that I wanted them to have, and I wanted them to be different than our normal pictures that are usually taken at a park.

This year I want an urban background.  We're going to Ft. Lauderdale to take some pictures with a city feel.  So, since I want a city feel I figured why not channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw and wear my pink tulle skirt?!  Here's the vision I have:

As far as clothes go, this is what I have in mind for us:

For me:

I'm not sure whether to go for a sequins shirt and tulle shirt or keep it simpler with a striped shirt and the shirt.  What do you think?  Is sequins and tulle together too much? The shoes will vary depending on which way I decide to go with the shirt.  As will the accessories.

 For E:

I ordered the dress for her yesterday on Nordstrom and I am obsessed with it.  I think she's going to look so cute in it and I like how her and I are matching, she's a big fan of matching with her mama!

For Hubby:

My husband's style is crazy simple.  He goes for comfort at all times and his idea of dressing up is a polo shirt and jeans or dress pants.  So, he'll be in a polo, jeans and his boots.  Easy... and predictable ;)

For J:

He'll be in this button down gray and white shirt that I ordered for him and jeans with casual shoes.

I wish boy clothes were more exciting, there's never anything that wows me!  But he's a handsome little guy so he'll look adorable, I'm sure.

What do you guys think of my vision for the pictures?

15 Under $15 | Shop Guide

Happy Hump Day!

There's nothing I love more than finding cute things for a steal of a deal.  I can look around the web for the longest time finding cute inexpensive things - there are so many awesome things for $15 and under!   I've rounded up some cute things I've found while looking around the web.  There's something for everyone... well mostly for girls ;) but you get my drift.

The parenting book is $16 - but well worth that extra dollar for new parents, I spent my whole pregnancy and first few months after my daughter was born reading books on what to expect - they are a lifesaver!

Happy Shopping!

Layering for Winter

Happy Monday!

I'm so excited for this week to be over.  It's a short one and then things can slow down around here since my daughter will be on Winter break!!  No alarm clocks for two weeks sounds awesome to me :)

Since Winters down here are usually pretty mild, it can be kind of a pain to dress accordingly - we have to do a lot of layering because chances are that by the afternoon our temperatures will be in the the low 70's.   And while our Winters tend to be mild, I know a lot of my northern friends layer too because most places have the heater on and there's NO way you're going to stay bundled up.... see!  We have something in common with Winter ;)

I've rounded up some of my favorite "Winter" outfits all about layering....

Weekend Recapping on Tuesday

I hope everyone had the best weekend!  I meant to get my weekend recap post up yesterday (it's been forever since I've shared one!) but running errands took precedence.  We were gone most of the day getting things done - anyone else's Costco trips take forever??  Oh my!

Anyway, I'm here recapping a day late for you all.

It has been raining basically non stop here, but we still managed to do a few things and have fun.  Friday night we met up with our couple friends and had a parent's night out!  We went to Funky Budah and had the best time sampling beers, eating delicious food and being able to carry on conversations without any kids interrupting - priceless and totally worth the drive in the pouring rain :)

Saturday we spent at home all day.  We had a quiet morning: coffee, candles burning and Saturday morning cartoons.  I got some chores done around the house and then got sucked into the Fixer Upper marathon - I could seriously sit and watch Fixer Upper all day!

In the evening my brother-in-law and sister-in-law came over to play with the kids.  We decided to order sushi for dinner, sushi is always a good idea!

Sunday we were invited to our friends house for Mexian night.

I threw on my go-to outfit, my striped shirt from Loft, Express jean leggings, my pink stone necklace from Dolce Ave. and my leopard ballet flats.  Do any of you have an outfit that's your go to when you don't know what to wear but want to look cute?

shirt (similar) | leggings | flats | necklace (similar)

We all had a blast - we ate enchiladas, queso dip, and guacamole.  The kids all played together and we adults played beer pong, haha.  It was my first time playing, it is fun!

And just like that our fun weekend was over and it was time to get ready for the week!

What were you up to over the weekend?
