Daydreaming: A Kitchen Renovation

Happy almost Friday everyone!

I got a late start this morning, which is why I'm a little late to the blogging world.  (Also just for the record Nina, I tried doing your VLog this month, but I was just too awkward... it's not going to happen ;))

I don't know if you all are like me, but I always think and daydream about things that I want to do to the house, or things that we will do in the future.  One of those is redoing our kitchen.  Don't get me wrong, there's nothing really "wrong" with our kitchen now, but it's not completely our style or my dream kitchen by any means.  When we first moved in, we painted the cabinets, bought new appliances and changed the hardware which made a HUGE difference!

In a few years we're planning on finally redoing our kitchen and making it a space that we really love.  In the meantime, this girl can't help but plan and dream.  If you follow me on Pinterest, you know that I have a board dedicated to my dream kitchen:

I envision a bright white kitchen, with white and gray counter tops (preferably marble), a farmhouse sink, gorgeous backslash, and a wine fridge (of course!)  One thing that we'd love to do is bring down our current bar counter so that it looks more like an island, which will open up the space a lot more.

Can't wait for the day to come and we finally redo the kitchen, until then I'll keep dreaming :)

Have a great day!

I spend WAY too much time day-dreaming about our future kitchen! Part of me cannot wait to get started and the other part is slightly nervous because it's such a huge undertaking!!

I feel the same way about kitchens. I'm usually glued to HGTV and my favorite ideas usually come from the kitchen. :)

Your original re-do made such a huge difference, such a pretty space. How was it painting the cabinets? Was it as easy as it sounds or was it a pain? I'm now wishing we went with darker cabinets and have considered painting or staining them, but am not sure if it's a much bigger project than I think :-P

Looking forward to seeing your final product, gorgeous inspiration pics!

I really like your kitchen. My cabinets need to be painted white asap. I dream of the day I can expand my kitchen into the dining room and have a huge island, etc. I want it all white too. You should check out my dream white kitchen board on pinterest lol. I think you would appreciate it. Too bad I am years away from making it all happen! xo Happy Valentines!!

Your simple paint project made a huge change in your kitchen, Amanda! What’s not to love about white kitchens, yes? Aside from making the kitchen brighter, it also added a sense of sophistication and glamour to the whole thing. I’ve seen your pins, and I can say that you had amazing inspirations for your remodel. I hope you’ll be able to finish your dream kitchen as soon as possible. Keep us posted!
