Delicious 30 Minute Pasta Sauce

When my husband is on shift and there aren't any leftovers I make something simple and delicious for the kids and I.  I usually lean more towards pasta since I love it and of course the kids are a fan - what kid doesn't love pasta?!

Over the past few years I have enjoyed cooking, but there are those days - especially weekdays (since it's just the kids and I home) that whatever I make either needs to be in the Crock Pot or quick.

This pasta sauce is not only fast but delicious and you'll only dirty two things when making it #winning.  It's the Pioneer Woman's recipe for the sauce for her Baked Ziti.  The kids love the sauce and when I'm short on time and can't make the full fledged ziti, this hits the spot and the sauce tastes as if it has been cooking for hours!  I think it's the mixture of meats used.  Also leftovers can be frozen for another meal (or two).  So it's great to have on hand!

Pioneer Woman's Meat Sauce

2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
3 cloves Garlic, Minced
1 whole Large Onion, Diced
1 pound Italian Sausage
1 pound Ground Beef
1 can (28 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes, With Juice
2 cans (14.5 Ounce) Tomato Sauce Or Marinara Sauce
2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
Salt And Pepper, to taste

Directions

Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and saute for several minutes, or until starting to soften. Add Italian sausage and ground beef and cook until browned. Drain off fat, leaving a bit behind for flavor and moisture.

Add tomatoes, tomato juice, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.

Cook pasta according to directions on box.  I like following the directions so the pasta is al dente and still has a little bite to it.  Make sure to salt your water really well before so you can "season" your pasta!

So easy and so delicious and goes perfectly with a big glass of red wine!

Speaking of wine:  Tomorrow is Wino Wednesday, remember to come and linkup with Lindsay and I and share your favorite wines!

Only using 2 dishes? That’s a major win in my book. I love cooking and having supper at home…but hate the clean up and the dishes. My nemesis! Ha. I just love the Pioneer woman and this sauce looks and sounds amazing. I need to make this! Thanks for sharing!

Oh I am definitely going to have to try this! I usually only make homemade sauce on the weekends because mine takes awhile to simmer together. I can totally do 30 mins on a weekday though!<3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
