Friday Favorites (9/11)

It's that dreaded day of the year 9/11 - no matter how many years pass, it still feels like it just happened and I remember exactly where I was when I saw the news... In my 11th grade algebra class.  I thought we were watching some movie when I walked in and saw the tv on and what was happening.  I quickly realized that the horror scene on tv was real - it was unbelievable.  As you all know I was born in NY, my dad worked in the World Trade Center when I was a kid and we have a lot of friends and family up there so it hit close to home.  And now as a fireman's wife it continues to hit close to home, I can not even imagine what those families went through!  It was all so tragic.

To continue in true Friday fashion around here, I am linking up for Friday Favorites and bringing some positive vibes to a crummy day.

one:  I am pretty obsessed with the Lulu and Georgia Elodie rug - every time I see it,  I get all heart-eyed.  It's so beautiful and looks great in all types of rooms: living, family, nurseries and dining rooms!!

two:  I'm a HUGE Fixer Upper fan, I love the way Joanna Gaines decorates homes - her style is amazing.  I'm also always swooning over their farmhouse when I see it on their show so I was all over their farmhouse tour - it's just as gorgeous as I could've imagined!  I also like the fact that it's a smaller house, it gives great ideas on ways to decorate in a regular sized home.

three: I'm loving this cute and comfy outfit - it's perfect for when the temperatures start to drop.

four:  I may be a little MIA next week as we will be in Charleston, I do have a few posts planned so it wont be totally quiet around here!  And don't forget to follow along our adventures on Instagram!

9/11 still shakes me to the core. I remember it more vividly than my wedding day and am so grateful for people like J. Avery just had an assignment where she had to name her hero, and she named her uncle who is also a firefighter. They are few and far between and should be celebrated. Can you please join Snapchat?! I want to see the vacay on video!!!!
