Now that we need to be extremely scheduled in the mornings, I've found that when you prepare in advance - getting ready in the hustle and bustle in the mornings is WAY easier.
During the evenings I have a mental checklist of things I do to make getting ready in the mornings that much smoother and if you have kids that you get ready in the mornings you know that the word smooth is not usually in your description of the mornings, it's tough - but planning ahead is a lifesaver! Here are a few things that I do that makes getting ready a little easier on my patience.
Set your alarm for when you need to wake up - I've never been one to hit the snooze button. When I do I always wake up feeling more tired and of course it's later than I want it to be so then I have to rush and I hate rushing. I've found that setting the alarm and getting up when it rings makes me feel more refreshed and gives me more time to do what I need to do in the mornings.
Clean up kitchen and bathrooms the night before - these are the two main areas you're going to be getting ready in the mornings. Keeping them neat and cleaned up makes you feel less chaotic and allows you to focus on what you're doing. Also waking up to a dirty kitchen always puts me in a bad mood - so this avoids a crazy mommy ;)
Set your coffee timer - The best part of waking up isFoldgers coffee in your cup, am I right? I don't
usually drink coffee as I'm getting the kids ready, because there is no way I
could drink it without it getting cold, but it sure is nice to have it ready to
go and to put into my to go cup for the car. We don't have a timer
but our coffee maker makes a full pot of coffee in less than 3 minutes, so it's
a breeze!
Lay out clothes the night before - This saves time aimlessly looking at your closet which can take forever if you don't know what to wear and are groggy from waking up. I speak from experience when I worked a 9-5 job. Laying your clothes out really saves SO much time!
Make lists of things that need to be done - This is something I always do because I tend to forget what I need to do and because I get way too much pleasure crossing things off a to-do list! This ensures that you're not overbooking yourself or taking too much on in one day.

What a great idea for a post.... I might have to copy! I do most of these except for the coffee timer but the clothes from the night before is huge especially with my two little fashionistas
We are morning twins!! I do exactly the same things you listed, except the coffee. I agree, when momma has it all together, the morning/day goes so much smoother. The kitchen/bath, a total must for me. It's like you get a complete clean slate when these things are done before the day ends.
All great tips girl! I have a rule that I cannot hit snooze on my alarm no matter how tired I am. I know if I do I'll never want to get out of bed. And yes to cleaning the kitchen the night before! I can't go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink any way.

Great tips, lady!!!!!! I always clean the kitchen before going to bed, a sink full of dishes stresses me out like crazy.
I think my biggest thing is picking out my clothes the night before. That way I dont waste a bunch of time hemming and hawing over what I should wear. Huge time saver!
These are great tips! I need to start laying out clothes the night before... I always seem to be scrambling and throwing on random pieces before I've had my coffee.. not good! :)
I am all about a clean kitchen and bathroom in the morning, plus coffee ready, outfits out. Basically all of the above ;)
Yes to making a list of things to do! If I don't do it the night before, I'll be laying in bed thinking and reminding myself not to forget things!
I really need to break my snooze habit!
These are all great tips! Things I knew, but rarely implement, lol. They're so spot on tho!
I have been trying to take care of the dishwasher the night before. Because I hate emptying and filling it.These are great tips though, so thanks for sharing!! I hope that you are having a great week too!!
Lay out clothes before is my number one go to way to streamline things in the morning. That and make sure I have my work bag packed!
OH how I wish my little one-cup Keurig had a timer. Those were the days! Great tips... especially for a non-morning person like me ;)
I'm always looking to streamline my mornings. We don't have a time on our coffee pot (that WILL be going on the registry), but I always get it set up at night. It's the little things!
Such great tips! My daughter just began 2-K preschool 3 mornings a week and getting out the door is so hard with the little ones! YES to cleaning up the kitchen and bathroom the night before. There is nothing worse to walking downstairs to find a sink full of dirty dishes!

Yes yes to all of this! I always cleanup the kitchen before bed and it's a huge morning time saver / sanity saver!
