Charleston I'm Coming For You!!

Yesterday we finally decided to plan our trip to Charleston next month - we're going for our anniversary!!  I'm SO excited!  I've been wanting to go to Charleston for such a long time!  And we'll be kid free, which also will be nice :)

I can't wait to walk through the historical streets, eat at some of the delicious restaurants, and take some tours!

Ok locals, or friends that have been there before - what would you recommend seeing and doing?  What are the top restaurants you recommend?  We'll be in the city for three full days.  I know I'd like to do the Palmetto Carriage Tour and I'd love to tour the Boone Hall Plantation - any other must sees?

Can't wait to hear your suggestions!

yah! so excited for you :) boone hall for sure, that's my favorite plantation. a trip to the beach would be fun (but totally not necessary since im sure the beaches in FL are nicer!) I'd spend most of my time downtown -- visit battery park, waterfront park (that's where the pineapple fountain is) and strolling around market street and king street. my favorite thing to do is just to wander around and look at the houses! if you need restaurant recommendations my favorite is Poogan's Porch for brunch, Queen Street Grocery for lunch (sandwiches, crepes), and Callies Hot Little Biscuits for a treat. i would love to see you but i totally understand that it's your anniversary trip --so you two lovebirds enjoy your time together! xoxo

Rarebit for delicious cocktails! Callie's Hot Little Biscuit and/or Jeni's for sweet treats. Pretty much everywhere downtown has delicious brunch. Husk is good for dinner! Poogan's Porch and Hominy Grill have amazing Southern food. Can you tell I miss living their for the food?! :)

So happy you finally get to go. I love Charleston. My cousin lives there so we are regulars. Folly Beach or Isle of Palms are the best beaches if you have time to head there. The Battery, has all the market shops and pretty much food wise, anywhere I've ever eaten has been good. Depends on what you like. Middleton Plantation is another great tour to go through. Don't forget to do some shopping at the little shops around and about. They have the best boutiques. Right now it is miserably hot, but fall is a beautiful time to go. Horse and carriage rides are available to depending on the time of day. So excited for you.

Ahhhh girl, you are going to have SO much fun. My favorite places to hit are: S.N.O.B., waterfront park, the big market, Poogan's Porch, Cupcake for a sweet treat, and of course shopping on King Street. I've never been to Boone Hall but it looks beautiful and it's definitely on my list for next time!! xo

So exciting!! Such a fun place for an anniversary - we were talking about going next year! I went for my bachelorette and loved the Stars restaurant/ rooftop, the pavilion bar for drinks, T-Bonz for lunch and Burwell's Steakhouse for dinner. Irvin House Vineyards just outside Charleston is a fantastic winery for tastings!

Hit up Poogan's Porch for dinner! Market Pavilion's rooftop bar is a must. The city market and the farmer's market in Francis Marion Square. I have other suggestions too! Feel free to e-mail me because that's where we went on our anniversary trip this summer! xo
