Wino Wednesday| Sofia 2013 Rose

For this month's Wino Wednesday pick I wanted to venture out of my comfort zone.  I've heard from so many other women how delicious Rose's are, so when I saw the Sofia Rose at Costco for $10 (and a pretty bottle!) I figured I'd give it a try and if I didn't like it, it wouldn't break the bank since it was inexpensive.

I'm obviously not an expert in any shape or form on Rose's but, I thought this Rose was very good and refreshing, perfect to drink on a warm summer night.  I could taste the fruitiness of the wine, and yet it wasn't sweet - which I like, because I do not like sweet wine.

Here are the wine maker's notes: "Feminine and stylish, with a fragrant perfume of fresh strawberries and lavender, this rosé explodes with ripe, juicy flavors of cherry, raspberry and citrus zest. This refreshing wine is reminiscent of the popular dry rosés served in seaside café along the French Riviera. It’s crisp, delicate, and elegantly fruity with just a kiss of spice on the finish."

I'm glad I gave a Rose a try, I definitely will be trying more - especially a lighter colored Rose because I've heard that the lighter ones taste even better!  Another thing I'd like to try from the Francis Ford Coppola winery is the Sofia Mini's which is sparkling wine in a can - they look so fun!  Perfect for a girl's night or to take to the beach!

Do you like Rose?  Which is your favorite?

Also, I recently found this article that explains how long opened wine will last!

I love Sofia! They make awesome mini champagne cans too! Rose has been back in popular demand this summer! I went to dinner in the city with some girlfriends and the place we went was sold out of all of their rose! My personal favorite is Whispering Angel... also super tasty!

I still haven't found a rose I love so thanks for the rec! As for the Coppola winery wines, they're all so freaking fabulous so I'm sure the Sofia Mini's are equally delicious.

Ooh that corked guide is so useful. Linked up! Thanks for hosting, gal!

Now that I think about it... I don't think I've ever had rose! Cute packaging sells me every time though -- it would be hard to turn this bottle down!
