Blogging...It's The Little Things

One thing that I'm very appreciative of is blogging.  I started this little blog 7 months ago, and it has been so much fun for me!  As a stay-at-home mom I was itching to find something creative to do - not that I don't enjoy my days as being mommy, but I needed something for ME.  I'm not really good at DIY (not that I've really tried - I'm too scared haha), scrap booking, or anything like that, but I have always loved writing. It's a way to be creative and jot down my feelings, emotions, or what I'm really into at the moment. Once I read my first blog (I Heart Organizing) I was hooked and thought it would be a great way for me to possibly find the creative niche I was looking for.

I was pretty apprehensive starting one, thinking I wouldn't have enough to write about or it would never be as good as the rest of the blogs that are out there.  Finally, after a year - on a whim I started my blog.  I thought of a name that represented me and went to blogger.com and started Kids and Cabernet!  Let me say that it has been so much fun to write posts and connect with everyone.   I'm able to sit down each night and unwind from my long mommy days and write a post... and then the best part is reading your comments and what you have to say!  I love reading everyone's blogs too and getting ideas on projects to do with my kiddos, recipes, beauty products, fashion, decor, ect.  I have learned so much from other blogs to the point that I even I feel like I'm more creative in my personal life!

Blogging has definitely been a "little thing" that has been so awesome and I'm happy I started doing it!  What do you love most about blogging?

Isn't is so nice to have your own little corner of the world where you can talk about all of the things you want to with grownups (who you don't usually see all day long)? I love that feeling!

Love this. When I started almost 6 years ago, I knew it was something I would want my children to read someday and it still is that for me! I love all of the wonderful advice people give for things going on as well as a lot of the friendships I've made!

I just started my own blog last week! sharpelbowsandknees.wordpress.com I am not a mommy yet but getting married in November and hope to become pregnant within a year of our wedding. I've also always found writing to be therapeutic, and I'd love to hear any tips you have for blogging beginners, and how to get followers. I'm really just doing it for myself as an outlet but I love connecting with others as well.

I agree. I have only been blogging for 1.5 months but I keep thinking, "What took me so long!"

I've been blogging for about 6 months now as well and had no idea I would love it as much as I do! My favorite parts have been the relationships I've made and also the things I've taken away from blogging.. like you mentioned finding new recipes, beauty/decorating/organizing tips, etc. I also love that it's like a virtual diary that I can come back and read and remember this time in my life!

This is great :)

I really love blogging but wish I had more time to devote to it, sometimes I think maybe I should stop because I cannot keep up, but I do love the fact that my kids/family can look back on it one day!

I love blogging for the reasons you listed- a way to unwind, to reflect on the day, and to connect with other readers. Comments are the best!

Totally agree!! As a stay at home mom, I needed something that was for "me". I started my blog at the beginning of the year and have found such a support system through it. Not to mention, I feel like I have a little side job now. And the best part I don't have to feel guilty because I blog after hours. ;) -Xo

Warning as this will be cheesey: I like getting a window into how others live their life. I LOVE the real housewives but they aren't real. The women I have managed to meet through blogs are.
