Mommy and Me Crafts

Today I'm linking up with Erinn and other mommys' on the Kid Tested Mother Approved Link up.  We're talking Crafts today. I'm not the craftiest of people (although I wish I had some Martha in me) but I do enjoy doing some crafts with my daughter!  Here are a few that we've tried and have had a fun time doing.

Crab Painting
E and I had so much fun doing this.  What kid doesn't love getting their hands full of paint?  She was very proud of her crab at the end and I must say, he came out pretty cute!  You can find out how to make the crab painting here.

No Mess Marbled Painting
I thought this was a good idea for days where I just didn't want to clean up any mess.  It was fun!  E loved making little swirlies with the paint and seeing how the paint mixed with the oil in the bag.   I should've put more paint, but you live and learn and now I know for next time.  Find out how to do this here.

(disclaimer: this picture was taken before my blogging days - sorry for the basket of laundry)

Tissue Paper Letter
This "craft" isn't as exciting, but E had fun doing it because she was making a letter E.  I was trying to have her practice making "her letter" so I wrote a big E and she had to paste tissue paper to complete the letter E.

What I liked about all three of these crafts was that they were easy to do, didn't require much prep time and even with her craft challenged mom E had a great time doing them and was able to be involved from beginning to end.

What are some crafts you've done with your kids?

So fun! I can't wait to start doing things like this with Ashlynn... I'm thinking we'll kick it off with some hand turkeys this Thanksgiving!

The crab painting is so cute! I'll definitely keep that in mind for when my daughter gets older.

I can't wait for Owen to be a little older so we can do some of these together (I think we'll try the mes free finger painting today though!)!

Thanks for linking up!

It's awesome when they get older and you can do little projects with them. I'm loving this age she's at right now. Hand turkeys sound super cute!

She'll love it! Then you can make a whole ocean scene around the crab.

How cute are those crab handprints?! And I love that you have an easel…we need to get one when Arden gets a little bit bigger!

Thank you! We got it from Ikea. The kids love it - it's a chalkboard on one side and a dry erase board on the other. We get tons of use out of it!
