Pantone Color of 2015 -- Marsala

Last week Pantone announced that the color of the year for 2015 would be Marsala.  I knew it was a wine color (Marsala wine... hello!) but also knew that it was kind of a Rust color as well.  My first thought was that it was very 70's, and I didn't think it was a good choice at all.

Marsala

(I couldn't resist including the wing-backed chair, it's the same ones we have, but in Marsala of course)

Now,  the color is growing on me a bit.  I'm not head over heels for it, but I do like it in makeup colors, and for accents around the house, and when it's combined with baby blue I think it is a really pretty color combination.

All in all, I don't think I'll have a lot of Marsala pieces, but I think I will accent with it.  How do you all feel about Marsala?  Will you be wearing it?

I love the nail polish color! I do think it's a very beautiful color but would really work best in the winter/fall. Although paired with light blue it does look gorgeous!

I think for me I'll wear it in accessories more than clothes...but Blake Lively looks amazing in that dress!!

I'm really excited about Marsala! I was never crazy about Radiant Orchid so I'm happy with the change. Love that nail polish!

I love it as a lip or nail color. In terms of clothes, I would wear a dress that color, or a top. I also think that it looks nice with gold. - Caroline @ Windy City Chic

It's such an expected color, which is what I love about it. It's different and color that is flattering on every skin tone. Those chairs... DROOL!

I agree that if I had just heard of it without seeing your inspiration board I wouldn't be too excited, but some of those pieces are fabulous!

I don't think this is really my colour.. I have a burgundy top that is similar but it's definitely not 'marsala' lol. and of course Blake Lively wore the colour before anyone else ;)

To be honest, I kind of hated it until I just saw it paired with the baby blue. I'm still not OBSESSED with it but that is nice combo.

I agree with the makeup colors, I really like the blush and lip color. I also like the nail polish! There's something very romantic and soft feeling about it in makeup tones.

I could take it or leave it for clothing, but I just don't gravitate to the deeper reds usually.
