Menage a Trois Midnight {Wino Wednesday Linkup}

It's that time of month again.. Wino Wednesday where I share my favorite wine of the month, and look forward to reading all of the wines you've loved.

Now that it's cooler out, it's time to break out the reds!  One of my favorite wines is Menage a Trois.  They recently came out with their Midnight blend that tastes SO good.  In my opinion you can't go wrong with a great wine under $10, and this one doesn't disappoint.  This would be a great inexpensive wine to have around when you have guests over.  It really does taste like a more expensive wine.

The Midnight is made up of four grapes instead of Menage a Trois signature three grapes.  It's a mix of  Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Sirah and Petit Verdot.  The Petit Sirah and Verdot are what contribute to the color being so rich.

The wine is one of the darker wines I've seen, it's a beautiful dark red.  I loved the wine because although it had deep flavors it was very easy to drink and extremely tasty.  I keep going back for more (shocker!) because I enjoyed it so much.  Here are the wine maker's notes:  "A gorgeous garnet color in the glass, this luxurious blend wraps you up in a velvety embrace. Voluptuous blackberry and plush spiced plum flavors seduce your palate, while hints of mocha and exotic spice linger on your lips like a stolen kiss. Silky and smooth with a long, powerful finish, you’ll wish Midnight could last forever."

Midnight would pair well with mostly anything especially a sharp cheese and some olives.  We had it alongside dinner - turkey, sweet potatoes, kale ceasar salad and it paired perfectly!

Now it's your turn to tell me what wine you've been loving.  Don't forget to check out my co-host Biana and Amanda's favorite wines either!

I had no idea that colors are associated seasons. Interesting that reds go well with cooler weather.
