Tropical Getaway

In a few weeks we along with our bff couple are going on a little getaway to the Dominican Republic.  I'm kind of stressed because we're not taking the kids.  I honestly don't even know what we were thinking when we planned this trip.  As much as I always think how much I'd like an adults only vacation, it stresses me out leaving them behind.  The kids will stay at our house so they'll continue their normal routines and be with our family.  I know they will be in great hands, but the fact that I wont be here freaks me out a little.  Has anyone gone on vacation without their kids?  How were the kids while you were gone?

Ok enough of the stress talk -- I get a little excited (of course) when I think of what I'm going to pack and wear while I'm there.  I'm get even more excited when I think about endless umbrella drinks and getting to sleep in ;)

Below are the styles I'm thinking of bringing.  I have that pink bathing suit in black, lots of maxis and jumpsuits.  I'm ready for nights out -- now need to focus on what I'm wearing during the day, except bathing suits.

Love what you picked! I always like to bring a few casual and a few 'dressy' dresses incase we do a fancy date night. Your maxi dresses are perfect and love that bikini!!

I would love to go to the DR! I am sure if I had kids, I'd be stressed about leaving them too, but I hope you have THE best time!

I didn't realize I was logged into my husband's google account earlier! Love the floral maxi! We had our Caribbean honeymoon in December and it was so weird packing for summer while wearing winter clothes!

Please buy that romper. It will look AMAZING on you!

I travel without the girls all the time and it's rough. But once you sleep in that first day, it makes everything a lot more manageable!

I'm so jealous!! You are going to have a ball with your friends and having NO KIDS! I promise. Make sure you work hard to relax and know your kids are in good hands. Its important for you to have a nice getaway with your husband and y'all will love every minute. Love what your packing and can't wait to read the recap!

I looove what you picked, and I'm so jealous too haha! I would love a warm tropical vaca.

I can't imagine how anxious you get about leaving the kids...I get that way just about leaving my animals! Once you're there though I'm sure you will be able to relax and enjoy your time.

Aah so exciting that your trip is just around the corner. Don't forget the cork screw - they seriously couldn't find one for us when we ordered a bottle of wine in Mexico hah. #travelfail

You are going to have an AMAZING time! As hard as it is to leave the kids behind, it's extremely important to get some adults only time away as well especially some husband and wife time. My husband and I plan on continuing to take 2trips a year after having kids. One with the family and one for just us ;-)

Those dresses are fabulous! Don't forget to pack some sunscreen and aloe!

I never try without the kiddos and don't pack Xanax! It's fun but they're always on your mind! A few cocktails will help and some phone calls! I got some seriously cute coverups at VS that they still have!

I'm sure your kids will be FINE, but I'm sure that's tough leaving them for the first time. Just know you'll come back even more relaxed and happy, which is good for every momma ;) Love all your clothes you picked out- the DR is beautiful, I love it there!!!

You're going to have so much fun! I would be nervous too, but I'm sure once you get there and check in with them you'll see they're doing fine, then you can relax. So fun, I love the DR!

I would probably be the same way about leaving my kids, but I'm sure you guys will have such a great trip! It has hardly been cold here but I'm already wishing for summer to come back-- or a beach vacation :)

Have a wonderful time! It's stressful leaving them for the first time, but afterwards, you'll be like "when can we do this again?" It's going to be so worth all the stress! Yay!

How fun!!! Love that black one piece by the way!! xoxo

Love that swimsuit! When we went to St. Lucia, I packed a lot of dresses that could go over my swimsuit or be worn by themselves for during the daytime. Easy, simple, but still put together.

I would be a little stressed out, too, but I'm sure you will have a wonderful time :)
