Now that the spare bedroom is officially our playroom, I figured I should spruce it up a bit and make it a room that the kids enjoy playing in.
We get so many drawings and scribbles from the kids that I don't always know what to do with, so I'd like to have an area where I can hang their little masterpieces. I want a system where it's easy to take the pictures on and off.

This design is cool, it's just twine tied to a nail with clothespins that the kids can paint. Inexpensive and cute!
This system uses the Ikea curtain wire for kids art, which is also a great idea!
Another thing I'd like to do is an alphabet wall! I'd like to attempt to DIY because all of the ones I've seen on Etsy are too darn expensive! There's no way I'm spending $130+ for an alphabet wall for a playroom. That being said, if anyone has ever made one before - spill all your secrets and please give me some tips!!
This one is my favorite because I think it would be fairly simple. I can get cardboard letters and glue scrapbook paper to the front of the letters.
I also like something like this, just not sure how hard it would be to find all of these letters and shapes.
Another thing I want to add is Playroom Rules. I just bought this one at Home Goods (except it's on canvas), but am keeping my eyes peeled in case I see anything else that I may like a little better.
What do you think, should I add anything else? How did you decorate your playroom?
I love that idea of hanging all their art work and then rotating it out as they bring more home. I have seen a few playrooms on pinterest that have one wall as a chalkboard and I just love that - so different!!
These ideas are so cute! I love the alphabet wall!!
You have to do the alphabet wall! SO cute! I've seen all of the wooden letters at Hobby Lobby before... can't remember how much they were but they are just plain so you could hodge podge some cute paper on each of them? Just an idea!
Love all of these! So cute! The kids art wall is such a fun idea!!

i love the idea of a kids art wall! so cute. xo jillian - stop by! I'm hosting a fall candle giveaway on cornflake dreams
We are currently trying to figure out how to display the girl's artwork too! I love that system using the Ikea curtain wire. We have saved EVERY piece of paper that they have scribbled on, and it's starting to be a little much!
I think an art wall is awesome, such a fun idea!
The art wall is genius!! I'll definitely keep that in mind when we get an official play room.
LOVE the alphabet wall idea! I actually just this idea on a blog this morning... alphabets made out of cereal boxes! They look 3D and how cheap is that if you already have cereal in the house? Google the idea or search it on Pinterest (sorry I don't remember which blog or I would share the URL!)
I think the art wall looks SO fun! And I bet they'd love their little works of art to be displayed like lik' materpieces :)
I have done the first system before but I put them up too high and it was too hard to change! Can't wait to see what you do!
What a clever idea to hang their art like that, I'll have to remember that down the road :)
That second alphabet wall is awesome! Seems pretty easy to do since the letters don't match. I'm always seeing random letters at Stein Mart and TJ Maxx.
I love the wire hanging idea for the kids' art and want to do that somewhere! The playroom is going to be so cute! I always love an alphabet wall, too!!
I love the art display idea and a chalkboard could always be fun. Or if you think the kids are old enough, I know when my mom was a school teacher she would buy a big sheet (board) at Lowe's that is used for shower walls but also works great as a cheap mural-sized dry erase board :)
These are all great ideas. I'd definitely do an area to hang the artwork and I love the idea of an alphabet wall. What about a corner with a calendar, or to talk about the weather?
Your plans sound great! I love the idea of an alphabet wall but that could get expensive. What if you just did ABC & 123??
I love all of these ideas! I have a friend (who doesn't have kids yet) who has been collected letters to eventually hang in her kids room one day :)
These are great ideas!!! I love the letter idea!

I love these ideas. I hope to utilize some of the display options when we build our new house.
hands down my favorite is the abstract a-z. how cool!!
I LOVE this! I would so love to have a playroom for Mason. I have so many ideas and nowhere to execute them. I love your plans! Especially the way to hang the kids art work!
love all of this! I'm working right now on a way to display art in our playroom but I love these ideas too. Totally want to do an alphabet wall and playroom rules sign!
You know I love all of these ideas!! I totally agree about the first alphabet wall being the easiest but I think I'm going to attempt to find fun letters but collect them slowly so I don't spend a ton at once. I love the idea of the playroom rules too. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
