*disclamer - this post is a little all over the place today - sorry in advance!
I tell myself every year that I'm going to add Fall touches to the house, but for some reason it never happens. I think it's a combination of it really not feeling like Fall down here, and also the fact that I can never settle on what decor I'd like or where to decorate... Then it got me thinking, maybe I'm not the person that decorates for Fall, or any other season, reading so many blogs all of the time, you can get the feeling that you don't have it all together because you don't:
I'm not saying any of this is wrong, and kudos to all of you amazing women that can do it all, but I'm realizing more and more that it's just not me, and I'm content with that. It's so easy to compare yourself and feel like you're slacking in certain aspects of life. So, in the meantime, I will continue looking at Pinterest and dreaming... and maybe doing a thing or two of what I see on there and be happy with just that.
That's the end of my rant :)
On another note, I've noticed many bloggers asking their readers what posts or things they enjoy reading or what posts they'd like to see more of. So now I'm asking you - are there any posts you like to see more (or less) of? Any topics you'd like for me to cover? I'd love to know!
Have a great Thursday!

Then it got me thinking, maybe I'm not the person that decorates for Fall, or any other season, reading so many blogs all of the time, you can get the feeling that you don't have it all together because you don't:
- Wear expensive clothes and look your best all of the time
- Your house isn't decorated impeccably and doesn't look super neat/clean all of the time
- You don't cook amazing meals every night
- You don't do something "blog worthy" every weekend
- You don't have DIY skills
That's the end of my rant :)

You know, I'm not the biggest decorator either for fall and that's okay. I do it all up for Christmas though.
And I agree, sometimes I think 'wow I really mus be slacking, everyone else has it all together'. But then I remember, my life is a good life and one I love, so who cares about the perfect decor ;)!
I like your blog, because it's real and fun to read. You don't need to change anything!
My life is full of dishes in the sink, papers on the table, and laundry that still isn't put away. But its full of memories, a lot of fun, and money for savings!
Ugh this made me so happy! I really don't know how people do it. My life is definitely cubicle, grilled chicken, yogurt, iphone photos.

None of us have it all together and those that make it look like they do are lying!
As for posts... I love pretty much everything from my daily reads, but I am beyond over all the "Why I love fall so much!" posts. Ugh... :-P
I totally know how you're feeling - I'm not the biggest decorator and don't really like decorating for every season or holiday!! Maybe this year pinterest and blogging will give me inspiration!
I also plan to decorate for Fall every year and never do so you are totally not alone.
Love this! I am always comparing myself to other bloggers and I don't know why! I figure, as long as I am happy with my life, nothing else should matter!
Pinterest can definitely be a double edged sword. Sooo many great ideas and full of inspiration but at the end of the day, not always realistic and that's okay! As long as you are happy, that is all that matters!
hahah dont worry -- i NEVER decorate for any holiday except for Christmas (and that usually consists of a christmas candle, tree and stockings!) i just dont like the clutter!! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
I feel like comparison, the thief of joy, is rife in blog land. I try to keep it real. I eat take out every night. I will get it together soon. Also, I want you to know that what I always get from your blog is that you are one cool chick who loves her man and loves her kid and that's the kind of blog I like to read.
Yes, yes, yes. You wrote what I've been thinking in my mind. My house is definitely not the cleanest or the most decorated. To be honest, I don't have the time or money to do it. I LOVE it when people do and I'm always in awe of their style, but I just...can't. I don't have DIY skills, I don't do all those fun/creative crafts with my kid, and I don't have fun/festive dinner parties. Does it make me jealous? Yes. Does it make me feel bad? Yes. But does it make me a bad mom? No. And I need to realize that. What we blog is just a snapshot in time. Sure I might seem like I have it all together in my blog post, but if you saw my house right now, you'd see the piles of mail on the counter, dishes in the sink, and toys on the floor (and probably laundry in the dryer that I'm too lazy to put away). And that's real life. I feel like I've rambled on a bit, but yes :) oh and I saw that e-card thing on Pinterest the other day and pinned it as well. So fitting!
I pretend that whatever leaves Matt or the dogs track in, are part of my fall decor. Wrong? Oh well. Cheers.
NO one has it all together or they'd have a live feed to brag all live-long day about the perfection of their lives ha. We can only do so much - we're all human. Great reminder of that :)
So true!!! Love this post. thanks for keeping it real!!
I love this post! I feel the exact same way and I'm glad I'm not the only one lol! And I love that meme you posted about pinning stuff to Pinterest and adding stuff to your shopping cart lol! That's me all the way!
I'm totally with you on the not decorating for every holiday! With the exception of Christmas, I always have big plans to make my house extra festive, but then I step in Michaels/Home Goods/Target and get completely overwhelmed and just scrap it! And I'm obsessed with that e-card.. basically sums um my Pinterest- haha!
I was JUST thinking today how every year I say I'm going to decorate for Fall but don't - then I always say, next year. And don't even get me started on how freaking messy my house is these days!! :)
LOVE this post. I just recently started going on Pinterest & suddenly feel like the least creative person ever, haha!
SOO true! I don't know why as women we put she crazy pressue on ourselves to do it all. That eCard made me LOL.. thanks for sharing!
great post and great reminder that bloggers post the pretty things. what we see is usually the happy stuff and the photos that are perfectly staged.
Ahhh I feel like this. SO. MUCH. Although we've been on a cleaning spree the last couple weeks, it's not the norm for my house to always be picked up perfectly and I'm constantly trying to figure out what I can get rid of to keep it feeling less cluttered. Plus I rarely get dressed nice unless I'm going somewhere away from the house. And that's ok :)
I totally think everyone has their own strengths, too. I LOVE doing DIY projects or trying new meals because it's relaxing to me. Cleaning or organizing? Yeah, I have to make myself do that.
I don't have the money to keep up with fancy bloggers lol. My house isn't up with the current trends and I don't decorate anything much except for a tree at Christmas time. I'm good with that.
My funniest thing is everyone wanting to hear all about my homeschool plans and they're basically "learn a letter and a number a week" everyone is going to be pretty let down by my blogger homeschooling haha.
I couldn't agree more! Although I think my house looks like a total mess in most of my pics and I don't care! I definitely post the prettier things, and sometimes it gives me a reason to look back on things and see the happy things and forget the crazy :)
Amen to this! Sometimes I look at all these blogs and think wow, I'm a serious failure. I am me though and that is good enough :)
I hate fall so I'm all for not decorating for it ;). You totally have it together (and all your instagrams look adorable - clothes, kids - all of it)!! I love reading your posts!
