September Goals

I'm posting kind of late today because the kids and I slept until 8!  It may not sound like much, but for a mom (at least with my early risers) it's like I slept until 10!

I don't know if it's the change of seasons, but I'm feeling the need to tackle a few things around here, so why not start this month!

  • Working out 2-3 times a week - I'm not trying to lose weight or "build" muscle, but I would like to start doing some kind of cardio.  We have a gym in our neighborhood and I plan on going a few times a week, just for 20-30 minutes.
  • Potty training - Now that J is two and a half, it's time to potty train.  When he doesn't have a diaper on, he's good about telling me when he needs to go so I know he's ready to learn.  We're practicing with undies on now, because if he feels something around him like undies or a diaper, he'll go.
  • Finish cleaning out spare bedroom aka new playroom - we started doing this about a month ago, and didn't finish.  This is majorly on my to-do list so we can get all of the toys in one space!
  • No Shopping in September - I'm joining Natalie for her 30 day closet remix.  I have plenty of clothes and there is no need to shop and buy anything for myself especially since it's still hot here.  Looking forward to saving some money this month and re-inventing what I already have in my closet.  I will keep you all posted on some cute outfits... when I'm not in yoga pants that is ;)
  • Print family pictures - I still haven't done this - nor have I given friends/family any pictures and we took our pictures in April!
Are any of you itching to accomplish any goals?

Also, remember tomorrow is Wino Wednesday - come linkup your favorite wines!!

I like the goals for September idea! I need to get my wedding pics developed still! It's been almost 2 years!

Love these goal posts - makes me think about mine. Maybe typing them out would be the best way to hold myself accountable! I can't believe I'm saying this but Cruz officially graduated potty training and I'm loving life! I've got a post ready actually =) The spending one is a good idea, with the change in seasons I might need to try that...well not completely stop (that would be impossible!) but reel it in. Plus all our fall clothes will feel new again since we haven't worn them for a while!

Oh I need to start potty training my Annalee too but boy do I dread it.

I'm kind of trying to do the clothes thing, except with my house. I'm trying to rearrange things and give the house a sprucing up without actually buying anything new. Good luck potty training!

Oh Potty training what fun! My 2nd son was a bit difficult because he just never wanted to stop playing or be interrupted. What worked for me was to buy a bunch of characters from the movie cars and place them in a little gift bag out of his reach but where he could still see it. Then each potty attempt I would give him a little gold star on a homemade chart. Every 5 stars he got to pick out a car and every attempt got a star. He was potty trained in days! Not sure this approach would suit every child but Cole is extremely motivated by new toys no matter how small. lol You could use anything even little surprises from the party store or items from quarter machines. Awesome goals! We have tried some gentle potty training with practically no success. While Liam has all the readiness signs, he is just not interested. I'm really dreading the whole thing!

Great goals!! I love these kind of posts and it motivates me to want to do one as well. I really want to start working out again now that the boys are back in school. Good luck with your goals!

Good luck on your September goals! I need to get better about eating this month... I spent all summer making excuses for eating everything fried and smothered in cheese and my jeans are definitely telling me it was a bad idea. I'm horrible at printing pictures too... I still have pictures from college in frames because I'm too lazy to swap them out!

Now that our fall routine is settling back in, I need to get my booty back regularly to the gym as well. I shoot for 5 days a week, but 3-4 is usually what happens.

Love the no shopping attitude. That is my goal as well. I'll use what I have and make the best out of it. :)

Working out will be fun, too. I am trying to walk more than drive...fingers crossed this works! :)
