Five on Friday!!

I hope you all have had a fantastic week.  Ours has been pretty good, we're doing some changes around the house and everything is pretty messy around here.  As much as I love changing things up in the house I can't stand the mess.  It makes me so anxious!  Hopefully we'll have everything in it's place soon.

It's FRIDAY, which means I'm linking up for Five on Friday!!  This week I'm switching it up a but and talking about my top five favorite pins on Pinterest.  Is it me or has Pinterest been having some great things to pin lately?!  It was hard for me to just pick five things... here we go!

one:    I am in LOVE with this room.  I love the soft colors with the metallics.  It's so warm and inviting, but also chic.

two:  This outfit is so simple and pretty!  It's perfect for a Spring day or going out to lunch with the girls.

three:  I found this Southwest Chicken Salad and want to make it so bad... I love anything with cilantro!

four:  I'm always known to either over-pack or not pack enough of a variety when we go on vacation.  I found this chart and I'm hoping that it helps with my next vacay.

five:  So true!

Before I sign off for the weekend, I want your opinion on a new entrance table we bought.  I love the table, but worry that it's too big.  What do you think?!

Have a great weekend!!

A Mother's Love...

Most of my life I knew I wanted children.  I've always wanted a family of my own and would wonder how many kids I would have, or what they would look like, but I could never be prepared for all the worrying that comes along with being a mom.  Not that I don't think that dad's have an impact on your life, because they do - but I feel like moms are the ones who mostly shape their kids into the who they will become.

After the kids go to bed I often find myself reflecting on the day.  It's usually a chaotic day with two kids that are two years apart with very little to no breaks (E doesn't nap), sibling fights, more messes than I can dream of, but also filled with the sweetest kids who look up to me as their mom - their superhero who can fix all boo-boo's and toys, give them snacks, snuggle when their cold or tired, change their clothes and diapers when they're dirty, ect.  It can be exhausting, and I worry if I'm handling it all right.  I worry if I was patient, or not patient enough -- did I discipline correctly or was I too harsh/lenient -- did I challenge and teach them anything-- did I do enough with them -- did I spend enough time with them or was I more concerned with cleaning, and my iPad/iPhone -- did I snuggle enough and show them how much I loved them?  It's crazy the amounts of fears and worries that come into your mind once you're a mom, and these just scratch the surface!  Even with all of the worries and emotional roller coaster that being a parent can be, I wouldn't change a thing!

Do any of you have the same fears?  How do you handle it all?

It's The Little Things {linkup} + Giveaway Winner

A few days ago I was looking through all of the old pictures on my phone.  I love looking at them and seeing how much the kids have changed, and also what was going on in life around that time.  Looking at the pictures brought me back... back to newborns, baby cuddles, waking up at night, first smiles, first baths, potty training, food messes, arts and crafts, playing dress-up and so many more moments!

There's nothing like the love for your children and watching them grow up is such an amazing thing.  Here is a collage of a few of my favorite pictures.

Time really does fly, although it doesn't always feel that way.

On to the winner of the Organaca giveaway.....  Lindsay from Pink and Fabulous!!  Congrats girl!!!!  Carly from Organaca will be in touch with you to send you your lotion and some other goodies for you to enjoy :)

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Wine-cessories

In the past few days we've added some wine accents into the house.  I'm kinda excited about them because I feel like they bring a little of my personality into my home.  After all, your home should represent YOU right?  Here are the few updates that we have done.  It's still a work in progress, but I'm so far I'm liking it.

The shadow box with the corks and sign is new.  Do you think I should add more stuff to the
wall or leave as is?

This isn't new, one of my good friends gave it to me and I thought it was too cute, it hangs
off of my pantry door.

I got the sign from Target that I spoke about here, I loved it and needed to have it :)

If you look you can see a wine bottle in my plant.  It's filled with water and has a terracotta tip that digs into the dirt and keeps the soil moist - which means the plant can actually get water
now - I'm horrible at remembering!

What do you think of the new things we've added?

Five On Friday!!

It's Friday!!  I hope you all have had a fantastic week.  We sure have - the weather has been gorgeous and we have been enjoying a lot of time outdoors, which I'm loving!  This weekend should be good too - today I'm going to get my hair done while my mom-in-law watches the kids and Sunday we have a mommy lunch date planned (sans kids) at a local wine and cheese bistro - I can't wait for that!!

It's The Little Things Linkup + Wino Wednesday!!

Yesterday was such a great day.  We woke up, the sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  I decided right then that we should go to the beach and enjoy the weather seeing as it was going to be 79 degrees out and the humidity was low.  I convinced hubby (he's not a beach person - weird!) and off we went with the kiddos.  We had the best time playing in the sand, getting some sun, and finding seashells.  After we were done playing in the sand, we walked to a taco shack on the beach and had some Taco Tuesday action.  I love days when we can just enjoy each other's company and not worry about cleaning, laundry, errands and cooking.

Once we got home our friends came over, the kids all played and we had a yummy dinner of brown sugar encrusted salmon, sauteed brussel sprouts/green beans, and yellow rice.  My bff and I shared this amazing wine that J got for me at Costco, it's called Palo Alto.  It's a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvingnon, Carmenere and Petite Sirah from 2010.  It was such a smooth wine and had a nice smoky taste.  It was one of the best wines I've had in a while.

Here are the winemaker's notes "With intense, bright color, this wine seduces with fresh and full character aromas. Black fruit notes and elegant presence of wood stand out. In mouth it is smooth, balanced and full-bodied."

Have a great Wednesday!!

PS:  Have you entered my giveaway yet?  It's a good one :)

Weekend + Awesome Giveaway!

Good morning, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We sure did... we had plans with some friends on Saturday night.  We went to their house and had a Mexican night. Yesterday was a special day - went to a really nice restaurant with my hubby, mom, my sister and her boyfriend along with his family.  We all knew the purpose of us being there (except my sister) - he was proposing to her!!!  It was so exciting to see!!!  He took her out to the beautiful dock, there was a full moon out and a gorgeous night and he proposed to her. It was very sweet!  When she got back into the restaurant we all cheered and she had a bouquet of red roses waiting for her at the table along with plenty of champs.  Between the bubbly and wine, I'm not sure how I walked out of that restaurant!  It was a great night and I'm so happy for my little sister!!

On to the great giveaway.  I received an email a few weeks ago from a company named Organaca.  All of their products are organic!  Makeup, lotions, soaps, body washes, body oils, sunscreen, baby and pregnancy products and much more - Organaca has it all!  I jumped on the opportunity to sample these products! Those who know me know that I'm into all natural and organic things.  I love knowing that there are no harmful chemicals in them.  I was able to try their mascara, body lotion,  baby lotion, and their bath essence. All of the products worked great, even though it wasn't as creamy as regular lotion, it was moisturizing.  I have eczema on my hands and it left my drier skin feeling moisturized.  I also loved their mascara!  It worked sooo good and gave my lashes great volume!  I was pleasantly surprised by all of the products, it's hard to find all natural products that really moisturize or do what they're supposed to do, but these products did not disappoint1

Organaca is generously giving away one of their body lotions (along with other goodies) to one of my readers!  Enter the rafflecopter below to win some amazing products!  The winner will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 26th and Carly from Organaca will mail you your lotion and goodies!!

For all of those wanting to try these products now, Organaca is offering all Kids and Cabernet readers 15% off of their purchases by entering the code kids15 at checkout!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Have a great Monday everyone!!!

*I was not paid for my opinions for this review or compensated in any way, these opinions are mine after sampling the products given to me

Five on Friday!

TGIF!!  I hope you've all had a wonderful week.  Ours was pretty good, and we have plans both days this weekend, which means that hopefully we'll have a nice one.  Today I'm doing my usual Friday business and linking up with some of my favorite girls for Five on Friday!

one:  #teamteddy - this story has been going around blogland for some while now and it tugs at my heart strings every time I read Teddy's story, he's such a beautiful little boy with the sweetest smile - I can''t imagine what his family is going through.  Just this past November, he was diagnosed with Menkes Syndrome, also known as "kinky hair syndrome", a rare genetic disease that affects approximately 1 in 450,000 male babies, it's a terminal disease and there are currently only a handful of documented cases in the entire United States. Teddy's mom, Mary created a CaringBridge page to create awareness to this horrible disease and to keep family and friends updated.  Please go visit their page and learn more about this disease, so that we all can be aware and educated.

two: This outfit - I'm in love!  It's such a simple outfit, with great accessories.

three:  This week I received the necklace I bought on Jane of me and hubby's initials.  I LOVE it and I wear it along with my necklace of the kids' names, all of my family close to my heart :)

four:  I just got the proofs from our family pictures!  They came out great, I can't wait to show you all. What's that?!  You want just one sneak peak....?????  Here it is!!

I can't wait to finally get these in my hands!

five:  How pretty are these nails?!  I love this combo.

Have a great weekend!

PS:  I have an awesome giveaway planned next week so be sure to check back :)

One can dream....

On Pinterest I have a "dream house" board, you know - what I wished my home looked like if I could have anything I wanted and money wasn't an option.  So I thought I'd share a few of those pictures with you!

Come on in...

Isn't this house gorgeous?  I love the neutral colors, the brick and those big windows

Such a beautiful yet casual space and that barn door is awesome

Yes please! {via}

I love the cheerful colors and the pattern mixes   {via}

So bright and beautiful!    {via}

Beautiful and serene   {via}

What do you think?  Are any of you like me with "dream house" boards?  I realize a lot of these things I can do without it costing too much, but I think part of my problem is I don't have good vision.  I start decorating a room, do a portion of it, then don't know where to go from there.  If any of you have any advise on how I can spruce up the rooms in my home, by all means let me know.

Have an awesome Thursday!
